1) Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution:
a. Academic calendar was prepared to ensure regular and effective conduct of classes under newly introduced semester system. All teachers were asked to prepare teaching plans at the beginning of each semester. Seminars, Group discussions, Tutorials etc were conducted for each class and in each subject. Teachers and students are encouraged to make use of LCD and OHP in their teaching and paper presentations. Industrial visits are under taken to give practical knowledge to students.
b. The Student Welfare Executive Committee (SWEC) of the college, under various extra curricular departments, has organized various activities and competitions during 2006-07.
i.Debating Union has conducted debate competitions in different languages and students were sent to participate in competitions conducted at District & University levels. It has launched an ambitious ‘Pratibha Shodha’ programme to search for new talents and train them in the art of speaking.
ii.Planning Forum: Planning forum of the college conducts A.D Shroff Memorial Elocution competitions sponsored by Forum of Free Enterprises, Mumbai every year to create awareness among students about current economic topics of national and international significance. It also conducts annual quiz competitions to the students It has started new programme named ‘AdMad Show’ from this academic year, which is of major interest to Commerce students.
iii.Department of sports has conducted major and minor games competitions for the students. Students were sent to participate in District & University level competitions. Kumari. Sunita D. was selected as ‘University Blue’ in Kabaddi for girls and represented Karnataka University in the Inter University competition held at Madurai.
